Camping 02-2010_Turon River NP

A small group of BMARC Members went for a weekend escape to Turon NP, on the Turon river. River levels predicted to be 1.8m, but on arrival was below knee height.
VK2SS Chuck, VK2MAN Eric & harmonics, & VK2TTL Rhod. We brought an off centre feed di-pole for 80/40/20/10m & a 80m vertical helical antenna with top hat & radials. The vertical outperformed the dipole by 1 S point during Sat evening. Sunday morning the dipole was better. We worked 80/40/20m, Eric & harmonics raced up & down the river in a inflatable boat, The water was very fresh. The facilities includes flat camp area, picnic tables, fire places & toilets, walks thru the bush, 4WD drives, scenery.
