| Next Foundation Course Jan 10 & 11 |
The next Amateur Radio Foundation course will be held on Saturday January 10 and Sunday January 11 at the club"s rooms at Glenbrook. Go to the education page for more information and please contact the Education Manager ASAP if you wish to attend. Note : The WIA is increasing assessment fees as from 1 February so this will be your last chance to sit the course and assessment at this price. |

| New IRLP Node - 6366 |
There is a new IRLP node linked to the VK2RBM 2m repeater at Lawson. The new node is number 6366. The old node is still receiving inbound connections but this will cease shortly. The new node also has Echolink enabled as node number 63666. |

| Training News |
Another successful weekend for the training manger and his elves. Over the weekend 15-16 November 2 more Foundation assessments were completed along with 2 Standard theory exams and 1 regs exam - all passed. Congratulations to trainers and trainees. |

| December Meeting - Christmas Party |
The meeting on December 7 will be our Christmas party commencing around 6.30 p.m. at the club rooms in Glenbrook. The BBQ will be lit - BYO Everything. Also, please bring a plate of goodies to share. See you there. |

Don"t miss the November meeting. We are going to again try and have Henry VK2OM do a talk on Resonant Long Wire Antennas. Hopefully this time the weather will co-operate and not wipe out the power for half of Glenbrook. Also, Joe VK2JP will have the Club Shop open. See you there. |

| JOTA 2008 |
Club members set up portable stations for JOTA over the weekend at Kings Langley and Bowen Mountain. Members involved included Erik VK2MAN, Peter VK2PJZ, Kevin VK2FTTP, and Steven VK2VSV at Kings Langley. Alf VK2YAC, and Richard VK2LET camped at Bowen Mountain. (Apologies to those I may have missed. Please send me details so your efforts can be recognised.) Reports from both sites indicate the activity was a success. At Kings Langley it was their first JOTA and the Scout Team Leaders were already planning next year at lunch time on Saturday. Also, I had long discussions with two scout fathers who now seem very interested in Amateur Radio. Full reports in the next Ragchew. |

| Bunnings BBQ Day - Saturday 29 November |
