| New work on our VK2RBM Repeater |
All our repeaters at Lawson 70 cm, 2m and 6 m are working very well at the moment. The 6 m repeater on 53.875 MHz is up and running but requires an extra cavity filter in band pass mode. There is a bit of noise through the audio path that should be cured with the installation of the 4th cavity filter. I had a spare 75 MHz (4 m) Band Cavity that I was given years ago by and old deceased friend and was collecting dust at home. I donated my old 4 m band cavity to BMARC which I modified into a 50 MHz (6 m) Filter in the way of some internal modifications and an extension which included TIG welding 150 mm round aluminium. Rhod VK2TTL and I will be going up to Lawson to complete the project shortly. The repeater committee is also busy with upgrading the repeater controllers. At the June meeting the new committee will reveal a few of their plans for the coming year. This will be followed by a presentation from John VK2ETA on PSKMail. While not yet mature PSKMail is a viable solution for access to emails over HF when Internet access is unavailable. It may also have application in emcomms. See you there. |

| 2 m Repeater Restored |
As from Monday 15th March 2010 at 7:50 pm, Rod VK2TTL has repaired and restored our repeater. This is working fine and the BMARC repeater committee is working to increase the reliability of the 2 m repeater with more visits to the repeater site after the John Moyle contest. VK2HO Cause: Fix: Long term Checked 2m Tx & Rx caverty's & align as required. |
